SIXTH FESTIVAL

The seed of Medicine Music has been planted. On April 20th, 2017, we will celebrate in Huerto Roma Verde of Mexico City the sixth edition of our International Medicine Music Festival “Todo el Mundo Dice Aho” (Everybody Says Aho), and we want to express our gratitude to the collective of conscious artists and activists for the Rights of Mother Earth for their participation. They are Samad, Maria Bernal, Olinka, Lengualerta, Moyenei, Paloma del Cerro and Jesús Hidalgo. Thank you for filling the space with music of high vibration and sharing the prayer of peace and unity. We would like to give thanks to all the collaborations that made possible this event, especially to Makika Mosqueda and her producer Qef Medicina, for all the shared support and energy. Thank you, Mexico for welcoming us and allowing us to cocreate in the magical spaces of this sacred country, Aho Mitakuye Oyasin!

FIFTH FESTIVAL

Everybody Says Aho – Puerto Rico 2016. Musicians from Puerto Rico and Latin America will gather on August 18, 7:30 pm, at Siente y Vive, as part of the fifth international festival: “Todo El Mundo Dice Aho (Everybody Says Aho)”, to make a call to care for our waters.

Medicine music from the Caribbean comes to fill the space with prayers of consciousness, by singers Lizette de la Ruda and Luisito Sairi, from the island of Borikén, also known as Puerto Rico. They walk through life as creators of art, they came together and recognized each other, beginning a new and ancestral path of healing tied to Mother Earth and her sacred plants.

Trece Lunas de Boriké will also participate; they are a group of women who are united to the heart of Mother Earth through the drum. The fusion of their voices is a channel of the medicinal chants that awaken ancestral memory and move the soul to sing and dance. Carlos Barsi and Enrique Cardenas, who have been collaborating together for over 15 years incorporating ethnic and traditional instruments of different cultures of the world, will also join. They offer musical magic capable of taking us on a journey through the universe of the interior of the human soul.

Joining this prayer will also be Dharma Agustina, “Arrow of Fire” with conscious bomba and plena, singer-songwriter and journalist Milton Carrero, Ligia “Jaguar Woman”, Gustavo “Mate Tate” Halley, singer, dancer, and activist Carmen Sanchez, and from Venezuela, the singer-songwriter and founder of the festival Everybody Says Aho, Jesus Hidalgo.

Medicine of Ancient Times is the musical offering of this ancestral breath to the tribes that today constitute themselves in the sacred work of creating a loving, dignified, and respectful reality where we are all ONE.

FORTH FESTIVAL

On 15 December 2015 in Colombia’s Arlequin Theatre located in Bogota, the Medicine Music Festival: Todo el Mundo Dice Aho! (Everybody Says Aho!) will begin its performances and journey.

The festival will be hosted in 9 different cities, such as Bucamaranga, Santa Marta, Barranquilla, Medellin, Sincelejo, Pereira, Cartagena, Cali, and others. This festival will visit ecological villages and sacred temples, continuing on to Ecuador where the festival will be presented in Quito and Tena, to later culminate in Peru at the Eco Truly Park of Chacraymar for two days of performances. Everybody says Aho! is a multicultural festival that brings together different musical and artistic expressions that manifest a commitment to Mother Earth. Medicine music has as its main focus the care, preservation, and protection of the planet. Just as our ancestors sang in the ritual while planting and harvesting, and sang to the elements, the body, and spirit in healing prayer, this festival awakens our consciousness and connection to ancestral wisdom. “Aho!” comes from the Lakota expression,  “Aho! Mitakuye Oyasin”, which means in harmony with all my relations.

EVERYBODY SAYS AHO, is a festival of Medicine Music, a movement of Conscious Music born in Miami, Florida in 2013, that has now extended to South America, happening for the first time in Colombia on the 16 and 17 of May 2015.

Thanks to the support from the World Conscious Pact, Chaski Fest, and many other sister organizations, we are working as a community with the same prayer: Respect for our Mother Earth, our women, respect for all beings, and ourselves.

The idea of this festival is inspired by the need to give value to the collective energy of coming together and enjoying ourselves again in this reunion, sharing the art and beauty of each being. This is an opportunity to understand that we achieve growth by helping outside ourselves.

In this opportunity, the festival is done in support of the VICTIMS OF GENDER VIOLENCE WOMEN’S NETWORK, WITHIN THE COLOMBIAN ARMED CONFLICT. This is a delicate topic as it represents many women who have been physically, mentally, and spiritually abused, that achieve a real social healing process through a communitarian movement, putting the matter on the table with courage and objectivity.

We will be a group of artists from all parts of America, celebrating our festival in the sacred land of Varsana, Colombia, very close to Bogota. We will be supporting this cause and generating economic means to benefit this organization, and we want to invite you all to join us, contributing to the funds to this beautiful and needed prayer. Aho!!!
