Coral Rojo is a Chilean vocal ensemble composed of five members Julian Herreros, Silvio Rozzi, Fernando Herreros, Julian Semeler, and Felipe Echavarria, who present an original repertory inspired by ancient and traditional musical forms of America.
The sound of Coral Rojo is based on the experience of findings and learning from repositories of ancestral knowledge across the Andean cord and other latitudes, for whom signing has above all a spiritual function, this premise together with the urban background of its members, results in a hybrid aesthetics and contemporary polyphonic signing dedicated to the spirit, in which a mixture of melodies, tones, and languages from indigenous and creole. Influenced by distant traditional east European coral signing form.
